We work alongside area associations and non-profit organizations to reduce food waste and support communities.
We choose special ingredients, such as Parmigiano Reggiano from Stable Meadows, to promote sustainable agriculture.
SUSTAINABILITY
SUSTAINABILITY
Our commitment to people and the planet.
Awareness of our daily choices in pursuing important global goals.
Sustainability is a fundamental awareness process that involves such indispensable topics as environment, economy, people, nutrition and supply chain.
That’s how Scoiattolo daily commitment to people and the planet was born. An act of awareness towards the social and environmental impact, to best define our sustainability contribution and the areas where to take action.
Hence, the decision to build our first voluntary 2021 Sustainability Report according to the “GRI Sustainability Reporting Standards”; an annual report to make visible, in a clear and transparent way, our efforts in sustaining the surrounding social-environmental ecosystem.
With an awareness of the importance of responsible and sustainable action and an ambition to contribute to the well-being of today without compromising the one of future generations.
How Scoiattolo makes a concrete contribution in pursuing the global and international challenges – identified by the United Nations and set out in the 2030 Agenda; 17 Goals for Sustainable Development, an action agenda for people, planet and prosperity:
We create special product lines, such as vegan and gluten free, to meet the needs and well-being of every consumer. We provide ongoing assistance to consumers and customers in handling reports of product non conformity.
We actively support the community in our area to support children coming from violent backgrounds. We offer continuous education programs for our employees.
40 % of Scoiattolo management is represented by women. We are also committed to non-discrimination payment and recruiting policies.
We deliver over 800 hours of training for employees’ personal and professional growth. We foster local employment by promoting development and wealth in the area. We promote the true “Made in Italy” at international level.
The new productive plant will be built according to environmentally friendly criteria, as evidenced by the catalytic coating for CO2 decomposition. We are investing resources to promote innovation at different stages of the production, studying new possible solutions to facilitate the processes.
We continually support local communities through donations and participation in land-enhancement events.
We mainly purchase products from Italian suppliers to reduce the impact of the supply chain. We adhere to recycling and circular economy projects such as Cycle4Green and choose to use packaging from recycled raw materials.
Our packaging is made of 70 % recycled plastic, which is a significant reduction if compared to past years; our back labels are made of 100 % recycled paper (coming from wastes generated within the company).
